Junior Cricket

Welcome to the heart of grassroots cricket in Research, Victoria! Research Eltham Collegians Cricket Club (RECCC) is a thriving local cricket club that prides itself on fostering the love of the game among kids aged 5 to 18, both boys and girls. With a commitment to inclusivity, our club offers a wide range of age-specific teams, ensuring that every child finds a place to learn, grow, and enjoy the sport. Our vibrant cricket community has two picturesque home grounds: Research Park, hosting the Under 18, Under 16, Girls, and Under 10s teams, and Eltham College, where our Cricket Blasters, Under 10s, Under 12s, and Under 14s teams hone their skills. Whether your child is just starting out or a seasoned player, RECCC provides a supportive and welcoming environment to nurture their cricketing dreams.

Junior Girls

Girls

Cricket is great for girls as it provides a social environment that helps foster friendships that last a lifetime. It builds confidence, leadership, and teamwork skills and creates a sense of belonging to a supportive local community. RECCC has had a long-standing girl's program with teams for all ages.

Cricket Blast

Kids up to 10 years old

Our #1 aim is FUN! Experience the joy of backyard cricket in a more structured way. Running for 10 sessions over November to February with a break for Christmas, kids get to enjoy cricket-based and game-based activities and recreate the magic and lasting memories of pick-up games of cricket.

Under 10s

Under 10s is the next step for kids who are ready to advance their cricket skills through organised games. The junior cricket pathway nurtures their passion, builds their confidence, allowing them to create lifelong memories. Played with a modified ball and ground size this level encourages participation and mateship. RECCC has 2 under 10s teams.

Under 12s

Following under 10s is the under 12s competition, again focused on player participation and enjoying the game of cricket with your friends. This level introduces players to hard cricket balls and again is played on a modified pitch size.

Under 14s

Under 14s is the first taste of full rules for junior cricketers, helping them develop their skills on a full size pitch. Playing a mixture of 40 over games (one dayers) and 80 over games (two dayers split over 2 Friday nights) players get to enjoy playing both longer and shorter formats of the game.

Under 16s

Our RECCC Under 16s team bridges the gap to senior cricket! This is the age where young talents have the opportunity to transition into the exciting world of senior cricket if they wish. Training before the senior group, the under 16s have a great support network of senior players around them.

Under 18s

Our RECCC Under 18s team is all about Friday night fun and mateship on the cricket field! It is a fun cricket experience for those in their final years of high school where teamwork and a dash of competition make for long lasting friendships.
